LOIS JUND NAMED TO TOP POSITION OF HEALTH DEPT.
The appointment of Miss Lois M. Jund as Administrative Director of the Territorial Department of Health was announced today. Miss Jund has been with the Health Department for the past two years as Tuberculosis Educational Consultant on loan from the National Tuberculosis Association through the Alaska Tuberculosis Association.
Dr. C. Earl Albrecht, Territorial Health Commissioner, who made the appointment explained that this is a new position which he felt was needed for a more effective plan of administrative direction within the Department. Said Albrecht, "It is most fortunate that Miss Jund has accepted this position which she is well qualified, having had specialized training and experience before she came to Alaska."
Miss Jund holds a degree from the Yale University Medical School as a Master of Public Health. She came to Juneau from Washington, D. C. where she had been detailed by the NTA. Her new position will permanently sever the NTA affiliation.
