WITH SUPT. DUKES.
A meeting of the various school principals in the county was held in the office of J. C. Dukes, county school superintendent, Saturday morning. A number of matters of particular interest to teachers were discussed, including a comparatively new card index system of recording school attendance.
The negro teachers of the county met Saturday afternoon with the superintendent.
The card system if properly carried out, will furnish complete information of all absences and the reasons therefor. It is planned to keep records of all children in the county, whether in school or not. The card furnishes a permanent record from which statistics may be compiled from time to time.
The educators in attendance at the meeting were J. W. Richardson, of Bronwood; W. B. Stallard, of Sasser; J. D. Harvey, of Parrott; Blanton Clement, Yeoman; Miss Jessie Bell, Pleasant Hill; Mrs. C. R. McKibben, of Graves, representing her husband, who is principal; Miss Orrie Jenkins, Herod; Miss Florence Tweedy, Dover; Miss Sarah Watson, Holmart; Linwood Holland, Liberty, and Miss Lorena Bridges, of Mount Olive.
