Daniel Symmes Esq. having resigned his seat in the Supreme Court, two Judges of that Court were to be appointed. Return J. Meigs, jun. and William Sprigg, Esquires, were elected Judges of the Supreme Court and William Wilson, Esq. President of the fourth circuit.
It is worthy of remark, that in 1803 Meigs and Sprigg were appointed Judges of the Supreme Court of Ohio; that they both resigned, and accepted Judgeships under the United States, one in the Louisiana, and the other in Orleans territory; that they have resigned these offices, and are again appointed Judges of the Supreme Court of Ohio.
