"During the past eight weeks the New Boston Committee has conducted a positive campaign, spotlighting key issues, promoting the registration of new voters, and introducing its candidates to the public. We have stuck to the facts of the campaign because we depend for support on a well-informed electorate.
"Meanwhile our opposition has conducted a campaign of character assassination. Their major attempts have been to stir up prejudice and create confusion.
"On next Tuesday the great majority of voters will choose to go forward with the New Boston Committee. This is only the beginning, for NBC is a permanent citizens association. A continuous campaign for better government will be undertaken after the election, and we invite every Boston citizen to participate in our year-round program devoted to building a cleaner, more prosperous, stronger community for ourselves and our children.
"During this last week of the campaign NBC members attended a meeting at New England Mutual Hall to hear a progress report. Committee headquarters sprang up at numerous points across the city. Members of NBC, young and old, worked long hours to send out a city-wide mailing of literature, and election day teams are being organized.
"Voters who wish to join this 'Citizens Crusade' may still do so by contacting the New Boston Committee at 28 Tremont St., or at the nearest headquarters."
