Northwest Makes Base At Seattle

SEATTLE, (P)—Northwest Airlines president Croil Hunter says the Seattle-Tacoma international airport will become the base this fall for all the line's direct flights to the Orient. St. Paul-Minneapolis is now the main base for the flights. Puget Sound area passengers to or from the Orient change planes at Anchorage. Hunter said eastern passengers will be routed through Seattle after the new schedule starts this fall. although a direct Twin Cities-Anchorage service will be maintained, via Edmonton, Alta. He said new Boeing Stratocruisers will be used. "This will mean a considerable increase in the number of our personnel here,"

Hunter said. "The basing of Orient flights here will bring in additional flight crews and maintenance personnel."
