Two young men named R. M. Reeves and W. Witcher were brutally murdered in Hardin, Ray county, on the 24th ult. They had some words with a fellow named Brice, but separated from him and walked away. Brice and two companions followed them, and Brice, who had an open knife in his hand with the blade concealed in his coat sleeve, walked up to them and plunged the knife first into one and then the other, striking both in the abdomen. Reeves died in a few minutes, and Witcher expired on Tuesday. All three of the men were captured, but the citizens took Brice out that night and hung him. The other two are still under arrest.
