In Trouble.
Joe Box was before United States Commissioner Locke yesterday on a charge of retailing liquor without a revenue license. A witness from Appling county testified that in July, 1884, Box went to Baxley one day when there was an execution, and took along a jug of whisky. Box had his headquarters in a barber shop and retailed whisky as long as he had any left.
Joe was held for the action of the court. Prosecution was begun in his case last year, but he was not arrested until last week.
