Mr. Editor: Paul Pry. (alias) S. P. R., who has concluded to garb himself in a robe of fiction to renew his foul publications with newly manufactured additions to his heretofore stuff, against an individual who has, on all occasions, faithfully discharged the trust confided to his care, in his official capacity. His inefficient attempt, over his own signature, has caused him to mantle himself with the name of Paul Pry. His voice is too well known in this community to lurk behind the veil of fiction. He is too glaring to be misapprehended; he charges an individual as being the author of the communication over the signature of A Farmer of Pike, against whom he has been brawling in every corner of your village, as not being the author of the communications even over his proper signature: and attempted to impress it on the minds of the readers of the Radical, in his co-laborer's communication of last September.
He appears to be directed by a lamentable fit of Political phrenzy. He has made a number of assertions, but of such a nature as cannot be supported by fact or reason. Whenever such a scribbler manifests an entire indifference as to truth, he should no longer be regarded as worthy of confidence. Simple creature takes courage and attempts to bolster himself up mightily, in consequence, (as he says,) one of the Triumvirate being elected Bank Director; and takes it for granted that it is a sanction of his. (Paul Pry's) nefarious course, and, doctrine assumed. What a pity the Reporter made an apology, that Mr. Soulard was not known to the members of the Legislature. Paul, having swallowed himself, will relieve the Farmer from the nauseous dose. Paul Pry had as well attend to the duties of his office, and not make quite so many errors as he does; and whilst on this subject, I would remark to the unfortunate, who per chance may be sued on plain notes, to examine the calculations, as errors have been committed on judgements rendered, and executions issued, for more than the correct amount of debt due. Remember, Paul, such gourd-headed fellows as you, are easily HEARD
