Welcome To The Press
This paper extends a very cordial welcome
to the members of the Midwestern
Press Association and guests, who meet in
Ashe county this week. We are always
happy to have guests visit this section and
since newspaper people are our special
friends, we extend a very special welcome
to them.
We have an opportunity to enjoy the
beauties and many other advantages this
section has to offer throughout the year,
and that is why we are particularly happy
to share them with our friends. We regret
the shortage of gasoline prevents special
tours of the Parkway and other places of
interest, but we are happy to have you see
and enjoy as much of the county as possible.
We realize that many of you have made
other sacrifices in travel in order to be able
to come. We hope you will find your stay
restful and enjoyable and will come again
as often as you can.
Again, we extend you a hearty welcome.
May you enjoy the cool mountain breezes,
beautiful scenery, the delicious food and
the fellowship of the people.
