WILL CONVENE TOMORROW
Annual Assembly Will Be Held At Westminster - Ritchie To Attend Banquet.
Westminster, Md., Sept. 16 - The Maryland Press Association will hold its annual meeting here Monday.
The officers of the association are: Ridgely T. Melvin, Maryland Gazette, Annapolis, president; C. L. Vincent, Messenger, Snow Hill, and James B. Curley, Leader, Laurel, vice-presidents;
S. E. Shannahan, Star-Democrat, Easton, secretary-treasurer.
The board of governors comprises P. G. Stromberg, the Times, Ellicott City; E. O. Diffendal, Democratic Advocate, Westminster; Earle Orem, the Democrat and News, Cambridge; Leo M. Moore, Democratic Ledger, Havre de Grace; S. E. Shannahan, Star-Democrat, Easton, and R. H. Collins, the Transcript, Chestertown.
Governor Ritchie, Attorney-General Armstrong, and former United States Senator Blair Lee have accepted invitations to speak at the annual press dinner at the Westminster Hotel on Monday evening.
Others who have received invitations to attend the dinner are Judge William H. Thomas, Judge James A. C. Bond, Francis Neal Parke, Edward O. Weant, Guy W. Steele, and William L. Seabrook, of this city. Tuesday the newspaper men will be guests of the Carroll county publishers. They will be taken by automobile to Gettysburg Tuesday morning and will have a chicken and waffle dinner at Abbottstown, Pa. Tuesday afternoon.
