The Snow Storm.

The snow storm of Sunday which was the most violent of the season, extended quite generally throughout the State, and as a high wind prevailed at the time, the highways are badly blocked. Towns without railroad connections have gone into winter quarters most effectually. About ten inches of snow fell in this city. The railroad men grappled with the storm and were very successful, so that the trains were but a few minutes behind time yesterday morning. The afternoon train was about an hour and a half behind time. The storm of Sunday was succeeded yesterday morning by a severe "spell" of cold weather, the thermometer on Water street indicating four degrees below zero. Then followed another flirt of snow, which continued at intervals during the forenoon, the weather moderating a little.

At Brunswick about three inches of snow fell, followed by a strong northwest wind, which drifted the snow somewhat.

In Farmington, the snow covers the fences, and they are having terribly cold weather.

A gentleman direct from Bingham informs us that the snow in the woods is three feet deep. The teams of the Kennebec Land and Lumber Company are all in the woods and at work.
