Movements at Vicksburg look towards Mobile, and a movement will undoubtedly take place at no very distant day. The editor of the Bulletin has conversed with gentlemen from the South representing seven seceded States. He places confidence in their statement. One from Georgia, lately in arms against the United States, acknowledges his error, and says he was entirely mistaken in his estimation of the Northern people. The South have measured their strength with that of the Government and found the latter the stronger, and they are ready and waiting for some movement to be made looking to reunion and peace. Their experience of war, destitution and suffering is perfectly satisfactory. The time for deluding the South with highly wrought stories and false Confederate victories has passed. They no longer believe their official reports of such victories, having found so many false. They have seen State after State overrun with Federals, stronghold after stronghold taken by Union troops, and they give up all hopes of success. The armies of the Confederacy join in this feeling generally. A vast proportion of the rebel army is broken, disgusted, spiritless. The people are willing to correct their grand mistake, and will no longer be guided by those who led them astray.
