Kiwanians Hear
Talk By Editor
Newspapers and their production were discussed at yesterday's luncheon meeting of the Kiwanis club at the Hotel El Centro by Jimmy Gurrene, editor of the Imperial Valley Press.
Information, which the general public rarely gives concerning the preparation of a newspaper for its readers, was brought out in the address.
The editor was introduced by W. G. Costello, publisher of the Press who acted as chairman of the day.
Robert Whitelaw, president of the club, presided at the meeting.
Leibert Imley, tenor, sang two numbers. He was accompanied by Prof. Lemuel A. Todd at the piano.
A report of the recent district convention of the organization at Sacramento was given by Oliver Lingo.
Guests of the club were Jane Work of Evanston, Ill. Charles Claussen, Ray West, R. P. Haas, W. L. Duncan, L. B. Morris, D. B. McKay, E. L. Manning and L. E. Kalford, who became a member of the organization at the luncheon yesterday.
