Midshipman Rogers.—This young gentleman, who so gallantly distinguished himself by the burning of the Creole, under the guns of the Castle of San Juan d'Ulloa, and who has since been taken prisoner, while reconnoitering in the vicinity of Vera Cruz, with the intention of ascertaining the locality of the magazine, for the purpose of blowing that up, says the Wilmington, Del., Chronicle, is the son of James Rogers, Esq., of Newcastle, in that State, and brother of William H. Rogers, Esq., U. S. District Attorney for Delaware.

Midshipman Rogers, from a boy, was of a most adventurous and daring disposition—'a fear-nothing spirit.'
