The British force off New-London yesterday morning, was a line of battle ship and a brig. It is said they will have friendly communication with that port as soon as they are officially notified of the ratification of the treaty.
It is singular that the good people of New-London did not have the news of the ratification by the same mail which brought it here. They were all ready, we understand, to celebrate its arrival—but being disappointed, have of course deferred it until yesterday, when by the arrangement of the Mayor, there was to have been a military parade, illumination, &c.
