THE HAGUE, May 27. This Country has been much benefited from the Disparity in the English Gold Coin, by the Assistance of the Jews and Bankers. They have long practised the Art of picking out the weighty Guineas, for Exportation or melting. This Commerce was the more profitable, as at the same Time that the good Gold was drawn from England and Ireland adulterated Silver was carried in. If this Practice had been much Longer continued, it would have produced two extraordinary Effects; the first, that of drawing off all their good Gold in Specie, the other, in filling them with bad Silver.
