Full Text

The New Orleans Crescent notices very neatly the wailing of a Locofoco sheet in that city:

"The Know Nothings are a sore thorn in the side of the Courier. It sees raw head and bloody bones in the association. Beneath the disguises which it attributes to it, it fancies the whig face everywhere grins out, and it warns the democracy of a cat in the meal tub. A whig movement! Bah! Why, in many towns the Know Nothings have completely routed the whigs, and they scarcely knew where the blow come from. In Connecticut this was emphatically the case.—Strange whig movement to defeat itself. It is worse than the fabled act of old Saturn eating its own children."
