HARTFORD, July 16.

Last Week on Monday, the following melancholy Accident happened at Ermington, viz. As a number of People were raising one of the principal Rafters of a Meeting House in that Place, the Strap of one of the Blocks gave Way, when the Rafter fell, and knocked off three Men, viz. Lieut. Abner Curtis, Allen Merrills, and Jonathan Montague.---Merrills's Scull was fractured and otherwise much bruised, so that he died the Thursday following. Curtis had one of his Shoulders broke, and his Arm much wounded, which occasioned a Mortification in it, and his life is despaired of. Montague was wounded in one of his Hips, but is in a fair way of recovery.
