MR. CALHOUN.

The honorable John C. Calhoun, (says a correspondent in the Hartford Mercury ) a Representative from South-Carolina, the gentleman second named on the committee of Foreign Relations, graduated at Yale College in this state, in the year 1802. In his character as a scholar, his decided Republicanism, and the Herculean vigor of his understanding. American liberty cannot fail to find a most powerful support. It is to be hoped, however, that the public will not long remain without an introduction better calculated than this to arrest their attention.
