There are six clerks employed—one at $1,800 a year, and five at $1,500. The post master of the house receives $4 per day during the session. There are ten messengers, two employed the whole year to assist in taking care of the house: one receives $700, the other $2 per day, and the rest the same during the session,—for which time, also, two boys are employed at one dollar and fifty cents per day.
