House of Representatives of the U. S.—A list of the clerks employed in the office of the clerk of this house, and of the messengers, together with a statement of the expenditure of the contingent fund, for the year ending 1st December, 1825, has been published. The following summary will suffice:

There are six clerks employed—one at $1,800 a year, and five at $1,500. The post master of the house receives $4 per day during the session. There are ten messengers, two employed the whole year to assist in taking care of the house: one receives $700, the other $2 per day, and the rest the same during the session,—for which time, also, two boys are employed at one dollar and fifty cents per day.

The following is a recapitulation of the expenditure of the contingent fund:
