Living Giraffes—A pair of living Giraffes, of the most extraordinary size, arrived here, yesterday, by the steam-ship Washington, from Bremen. A pair of these tall and graceful creatures were imported in 1846, at an expense of $10,000; but they did not live long, and we have had no Giraffes in America since that time. Herr Hatman, who owns the present couple, and has laid out $25,000 to get them here from Egypt, hopes to have these survive, for some time, even in this climate. One Giraffe is 17 feet and the other 15 feet in height, and both, therefore, are not only handsome but stupendous wonders.
