A down-easter in town one evening told the scribe of a hotel in Winter Harbor, which closed two weeks earlier than usual this fall and during the summer has had half the time almost as many servants as patrons, but which is now booked every room next summer and the bungalows run in connection with the hotel are also leased for the season of 1915. The reason is that the thousands of wealthy people who have been in the habit of passing their summers in Europe will come to Maine instead next year.-Bath Independent.
Maybe some of the Maine folks have heard the suggestion of former President Eliot of Harvard, that many millions of vacation money that annually goes to Europe, will next year go to American resorts.
Maine is likely to get her share.
She should push those good roads along and prepare not only to "accommodate" but to please a few thousand additional visitors in 1915.
