By sundry persons who have deserted, been taken prisoners, and made their escape from the enemy since the late expedition to Danbury, Howe's army has suffered in that affair from 500 to 900 in killed, wounded, and missing. Loss of Col.'s 18 were killed, and 60 wounded, of whom seven are dead, and the rest like to recover. That of the salted meat which was attempted to be destroyed not more than one third has been preserved, and that the medicines and hospital stores are chiefly saved. That general Wooster died the 5th instant, of his wounds in the action of the 27th ult.
