The Richmond Rifle Company left this on Saturday evening. On that day they were invited to a soldier's dinner by their comrades, the Norfolk and Petersburg Volunteers, who, after the repast, accompanied them down to the wharf, from whence they embarked. There was something in the manner of these young soldiers taking leave of each other beyond the mere civility of military etiquette. They had been allotted to the same regiment, and soon contracted an intimacy and social intercourse with each other, which, for the short time they remained together, united their hearts in the bonds of friendship. At parting, therefore, their salutations were exchanged with sincerity and feeling, each regretting the separation about to take place. They were cheered at their departure with reiterated huzzas from the multitude of spectators who crowded the wharves.
