Full Text

The Ohio State Journal, mentions that Lemuel F. Lloyd has been appointed sub Indian Agent at Lower Sandusky, in place of Benjamin F. Stickney, and also Collector of the port of Miami, in place of Horatio Conant. Mr. Lloyd is a lucky man in getting two offices for his reward. The administration, however, deserves credit for this condensation of office, if it saves any expenditure to the public, but if the new officer receives all the two removed did, it would then seem to be no advantage. Jackson men must be scarce in that quarter. In New York, this place and many others, offices are chopped up like pine apple, to give every Jackson man a taste.
