The celebrated Doctor Dominicetti, at Chelsea, has hit upon a Method (since the great Rise of Coals) to warm the whole City of London with one Fire, as well as if every House had fifty in it. It is a curious Machine, which is to be fixed in the Centre of the Metropolis, by which Means the Heat will be conveyed from thence down the Chimnies of all the Houses, and so into every Room in each House where there is a Fire-place; and when any Thing is wanted to be dressed, the Heat in the several Apartments may be collected into any one Grate in the House for that Purpose. This, no Doubt, will make the Proprietors of Coal Mines, and the Merchants, look sharp about them; otherwise the Colliers and high Wheel Carts, will move but very slowly.
