Decatur Project To Be Named After Rev. Wilson

Decatur's colored slum clearance project will be named the Allen Augustus Wilson Terrace in honor of the deceased minister, civic leader and principal of Herring Street School, it was announced Saturday. Selection of the name of the project on which construction will begin at an early date came after submission of several names at the Thursday night, May 30, Herring Street School, graduation exercises. The Decatur Housing Authority contacted the colored citizenry for a name for the project.

Rev. Mr. Wilson served as a Decatur leader for 23 years, passing on August 7, 1929.
