Full Text

Exodus of Darkness from Columbia.

The bogus Legislature has adjourned, and Columbia is delivered for a time from a mass of filth and corruption. The negroes, renegades and adventurers have pocketed their six dollars per day, and decamped to their respective homes. Bah, the idea of their having homes! Absurd!

Well, no matter where they have gone; they are at all events no longer sitting and stealing in the capacity of a Legislature.

The poor, deluded, inflated negroes! The Republican party is on very intimate terms with the "man and brother" at present, from the fact that his services are wanted in the approaching Presidential election. But after that little job has been attended to—and let it turn out as it may—poor Cuffee will be plainly informed of his future doom. Bad times ahead for Cuffee, no matter how much he lord it and legislates it.
