Maj. Buckley, who secured so large a share of the confidence and respect of the 19th regiment in Western Virginia, for his close adherence to discipline and soldierly bearing, has, as we learn from the Sentinel, received the appointment of Colonel of the 29th regiment. He passed through this place on Monday last with a company for Camp Giddings, of which he has taken command. There are now, we understand, four companies in this camp. The contract with Mr. Ray for the supply of rations for the regiment, has been ratified by the proper U. S. authority.
