To addition to the above we learn from Exeter, that the Republican Prox in that town will receive a much greater majority than at the last April election—and that the federal representatives who were smuggled in at the August election, will have leave to stay at home.
We were highly gratified to observe the promptitude and alacrity of the gentlemen appointed to attend at the late County Convention, holden at Portsmouth. Notwithstanding the severe rain-storm, there was a full assemblage. It was the more pleasing, as it augurs favourably, that every effort will be made to secure the re-election of Republican Prox, by an overwhelming majority.
