THE COST OF IMPEACHMENT.

"Trix," the Washington correspondent of the Chicago Times, says:

The people will have to pay a good round sum for impeachment; but it will all be found in the bill, including $6000 for printing admission tickets, a vast number of which were distributed to the harlots of Representatives and Senators, who appear daily, in all the pride of paint, powder and feathers, in the galleries. Certain witnesses cost the country $5000 each. Ten cents a mile and $10 per day were allowed for attendance. The entire cost is set down at near $400,000—including, I suppose, lemonade, ice-cream, oysters and cologne—the last, of course, for the ladies.
