Y.M.B.L. Will Set Dates Of Citrus Fiesta
MISSION, Sept. 14--(Sp)--Committee chairmen will be appointed and the date set for the Texas Citrus Fiesta to be held here this winter when members of the Young Men's Business League meet tonight at 7:30 o'clock in the city hall, according to the announcement made by Dr. William T. Gibbs, president.
The fiesta, a 90-day Citrus show is to be Valley-wide in scope and other cities are urged to join by entering floats and duchesses and by carrying on an extensive program of beautification, decorating streets, show-windows and yards for the benefit of the visitors.
To inaugurate the celebration a pageant, "The Glorious Years of Texas," depicting the history of Texas, will be presented by Arthur Hayes, Instructor of Dramatic Arts in the Mission high school Hayes, who also directed the "Pageant of Citrus" for the Texas Citrus Fiesta of 1930, also will have charge of the coronation ceremonies.
