Arrest of a Post-Master. W. G. Kendall, Post-Master at New Orleans, was arrested on the 23d ult., upon a warrant issued by the United States Commissioner, on the affidavit of the U. S. Special Mail Agent, charging him with having embezzled, or feloniously made way with, a letter containing six hundred dollars, addressed to Messrs. Wills, Rawlins & Co., of that city. The Post-Master entered into the required security to appear before the Commissioner for examination.

The True Delta states that frequent cases of the robbery of the mails are alleged to have occurred at New Orleans, and that the amounts abstracted, as far as the Secret Agents of the Department were able, upon investigation, to determine, exceeded forty thousand dollars.
