Dept. Of Understatement

According to a news report in the New York Times, Republican leaders are "showing a growing apprehension" over the failure of the Republican Congress to carry out the legislative program of the Republican President. They say Ike is in for "real trouble."

With considerable understatement, the GOP-supporting Times added editorially:

"The leaders of neither house of Congress have anything to boast about. If they expect to have by the time the Republicans face the country in November, they had better get a move on."
