WILL RELEASE FUNDS FOR START OF WORK ON SYSTEM RUNNING ALONG FLORIDA KEYS
Trustees of the Florida Keys Electric Co-operative, meeting tonight at Tavernier, will sign a loan contract releasing $50,000 for an immediate start on the Rural Electrification administration's power line to Boca Chica.
Julius F. Stone, Jr., Monroe county attorney, with the six trustees, will meet at 7:30 o'clock at the Tavernier Grocery company.
The trustees, in addition to signing the loan contract, will nominate three men for the post of power line superintendent, a position which eventually will give the man selected the title of manager over the power system.
Names of the three candidates, along with an exhaustive detailing of their qualifications, will be forwarded to REA headquarters in Washington, where the appointment will be made.
Trustees also will discuss the question of easements permitting the government to lay the power line. Members of the board are Alton Park, Stock Island; A. E. Woodburn and W. A. Parrish, Marathon; John A. Russell, Islamorada; Samuel R. Lund, Plantation Key, and Mrs. Ellie Lowe, Tavernier.
