The Right Spirit.
On Thursday evening of last week, we read our Prospectus to the members of Cincinnati Division, No.2,and it was responded to by individual subscriptions amounting to thirty-one, and an appropriation, by the Division, of ten dollars for the first and second issues, for gratuitous circulation !! Bro. JOHN WAGGONER, P. W. P., rose up in his place and pledged himself for fifty paying subscribers! And he is just the man to fulfill his promise. There is no drawback in him. How many Bro. Waggoner's are there in the Temperance army ?
Bro. Masson, P. W. P., pledged himself for "a good many," and has handed in a list of a dozen or more.
Bro. L. C. Hopkins, P. W. P., pledged himself for twenty-five, and many others promised to use their best efforts in behalf of the Organ. Such a hearty reception was not anticipated by us. Will not Divisions in the country imitate the glorious example of No. 2? We shall expect to hear from many.
Bro. E. M. GREGORY, P. G. W. P., informed us the other day that he had been unwell for several days back, and that he had only done "a little" in behalf of the paper. He quietly showed us a list with one hundred and fifty dollars pledged !
This is the right kind of spirit, and indicates a prosperity for the Organ never enjoyed by any temperance paper heretofore. We feel greatly encouraged, and earnestly hope that our friends in the country will do equally as well.
