Those Minnesotans interested in the continued good civil rights climate in this state will have little to worry about as far as the next governor's position. no matter who wins the expected recount.
Republican Elmer L. Andersen has had a good civil rights program during his term of office, one which started when he was first elected to public office as a state Senator.
Karl Rolvaag, the DFL candidate has always had a good civil rights posture from the time he served as state chairman of the DFL all through his three terms as lieutenant-governor of the state.
The DFL platform for 1962 had the most far-reaching plank on human and civil rights in that party's history.
This state is fortunate to have both candidates for the top job in the state so dedicated to the proposition that every man regardless of race, creed, color or national origin should have equal opportunity to contribute his best to the common good in all areas of life.
