The General Assembly of Connecticut met at New Haven on the 3d inst. Governor Tomlinson, Lieut. Governor Peters, Mr. Spencer, Treasurer, and Mr. Day, Secretary, were re-elected. Henry W. Edwards, a member from New Haven, chosen Speaker of the House of Representatives. The Governor's message was delivered on Thursday. The Session is held in the new State House, which is not yet quite completed. In the Governor's message it is mentioned that the income of the School Fund for the last year was $76,513 50; being 4000 dollars more than any former year. It is stated in the message, that the money disbursed from the treasury, in the form of dividends from the school fund, which are solely devoted to the support of common schools, "amounts to more than double the sum collected from the citizens of the State within the same period, in every form of State taxation."
