Full Text

THE Same Old Game.-The Raleigh Standard is trying to manufacture public sentiment by publishing extracts from letters. The letters, like the Vance political meetings. are gotten up for party purposes.

It is likely the Standard does receive encouragement from certain letter-writers, for whenever you find a disappointed, sore-headed politician, or a hater of secessionists tinctured with disloyalty, you are certain to find an admirer of the Standard. We know that some such persons have written letters to the Standard. That paper is welcome to all the consolation it may derive from such people.
