We learn from New-London, that Capt. David Allen in a Sloop from that Place for the West Indies, was taken near Bermuda by a French Privateer Brig of 10 Guns, who after taking out the Captain, put on board 8 Frenchmen, but the Englishmen on board, 4 in Number, took an Opportunity of killing 6 of the French, and wounded the other two so badly, that they got Possession of the Vessel, but two Days after they unluckily fell in with the same Privateer they were taken by, which obliged them to take to their boat, and got safe to Bermuda, after being 5 or 6 Days at Sea, and little or nothing to eat, having thrown every Thing overboard in order to lighten her, being closely pursued by the Privateer's Barge, which kept a constant Fire upon them with their small arms.
