He distinguished himself in Europe as a firm and zealous friend to American liberties. Left America in beginning of 1778, appointed Secretary of Embassy to Vienna and Berlin. Resided last five months in Holland, promoted American cause, brings important dispatches for Congress. Hope for soon recognition of independence by United States of Holland.
