Full Text

The trial of Lord George Gordon is expected to come on in about ten days at St. Margaret's hill, the King having, by his prerogative, a power to command the special commissioners to try persons charged with high treason in any county he thinks proper, though the overt act be not laid therein in the indictment; the last similar commission was executed in the same place. The trial of the rioters charged with high treason, expected to come on this week, cannot be so soon, owing to the very wise and guarded regulations which the laws have made in crimes of this description.
