In reference to the Wyandotte extension in this direction the Omaha Herald has discovered that 'The Kansas City, Wyandotte & Northwestern has secured the Union Pacific's Carbondale branch, thus giving the city of the Kaw direct access to Beatrice and southern Nebraska, to the almost certain detriment of Omaha and St. Joseph. The Union Pacific had this line by lease and the reason given for the surrender is poor business.'
Which moved the Wymore Union to observe, 'The above piece of news will be hailed with a certain degree of delight by our people. The U. P. line will in all probability now be run into Wymore, and a station made for the accommodation of the public. Whether it means that the U. P. will draw out of this territory or not, does not at present seem plain.'
