Col. R. J. Davant Appointed Permanent Receiver.
Yesterday was set apart by Judge Adams to inquire further into the Weisbein matter. The court passed an order appointing Col. R. J. Davant permanent receiver, under a bond of $18,000, to take charge of the goods and dispose of them. The receiver is to make inventory of the goods and report to the court by Jan. 21. Robert G. Erwin, Esq., was appointed master, to audit the accounts and investigate the assets involved in the suit.
Another batch of creditors were made parties complainants with the Jersey Continental Works, and the following were allowed to withdraw from the suit: M. J. Schloss & Co., L. Stern & Co., L. L. Young & Bro. and Meyer, Herman & Co.
An order was also granted enjoining the following parties from proceeding by attachment: Ostheimer Bros., J. H. Keogh, C. W. Singleton, B. Bamak & Co., Morrison, Herriman & Co., Betty Rosenbaum, J. Gutman & Co., Harry Haym, A. Krauss, Frank & Co., M. Sternberg, Julius Levy, Kohn, Lieberman & Co., Lilienthal & Son, I. Leopold & Son, Strauss Bros., S. Krouskoff and Emanuel Knapp.
