A Staunch and Veteran Republican
T. C. Reed goes to Tacoma today,
whence he leaves with Mrs. Reed in a
few days for Missouri, to reside for a
time with his son. He hopes, how-
ever, to return to the Sound in a year
or two to grow up with the country
when it takes a new start. The old
gentleman is a thorough American and
an ardent Republican. Talking politics
a little with some friends a few days
ago he said: "I have been a voter for
fifty-seven years and if my life could
be spared for fifty years longer nothing
but physical incapacity or loss of my
faculties could prevent me from con-
tinuing to cast my vote against the
Democratic party.
Mr. Reed voted for General William
Henry Harrison for president fifty-two
years ago and confidently expects to
see the grandson of "Old Tippecanoe"
re-elected this fall.
