NEW PAPER.—We have received a copy of the Belmont Courier, the publication of which was commenced on Saturday last at Belmont, Nye county, by Booth & Cammerer, proprietors, who are also proprietors and publishers of the Reese River Reveille. The Courier is a weekly paper and considerably larger than the Reveille, and judged by the contents of its first issue, it starts on a healthy basis, being well filled with live advertisements and good reading matter, original and selected, altogether it is a well printed, very creditable paper, properly representing that thriving locality and community, and deserves the most liberal support.

The Courier's "salutatory" concludes as follows: The Courier will be independent of all political parties and factions. It does not follow from this, however, that its publishers have no opinions; but the state of American politics at the present writing is such that no upright man, however strong a partisan he may be heretofore have been, can conscientiously give either of the existing parties his unqualified support. Corruption has crept into every branch of the Government to an extent which threatens the life of Democratic institutions; and, although the party in power is naturally responsible for the greatest share in this state of things, still we cannot forget that the opposition is not stainless. Under the circumstances, therefore, we shall support men and measures for their intrinsic worth, regardless of party affiliations.
