Bee Industry Of State Increasing

SACRAMENTO, April 24. (U.P.) California, you might say, has a bee in her bonnet.

Several, in fact, because a report of the state department of agriculture reveals that a total of 19,525,000 pounds of honey was produced in the state last year.

This production was credited to the 8885 apiaries, which include 254,839 colonies, registered from the 44 counties in which honey is produced commercially.

Department records show the Imperial county registration to be 237 apiaries and 13,509 colonies of bees.
