The rumor that the President and Secretary Cox are not in accord, and that disagreement upon certain political questions and matters in relation to the Government. was the cause of Secretary Cox's resignation, seems to have no foundation in fact. We have the best authority for stating that no disagreement whatever existed between the President and Mr. Cox, and that the latter tendered his resignation solely for private reasons. The President has not accepted the resignation, but there is every reason to believe that he will do so in a day or two.—Washington Chronicle.
