The city council has at last begun to move in the matter of properly guarding the public health. It will be a real step of progress when Santa Fe can be able to boast of a first-class city board of health governed by a sound code of rules. This may be the case after Tuesday night next—again it may not be. Certainly all fair-minded men will lay no obstacles in the way. That health ordinance ought to be adopted at the next meeting of the council without further delay.
