THAT TROLLEY VETO

Prospect That It Will Be Overridden at This Afternoon's Meeting.

The meeting of the Brooklyn Board of Aldermen last night, which was so seriously interfered with by the dinner given to President of the Board Michael J. Coffey at the Brighton Beach Hotel, was adjourned until this afternoon, when it is confidently expected that Mayor Boody's veto of the Union street trolley franchise resolution will be overridden and the resolution of the Board on July 7 giving the privilege to ex-County Clerk Delmar and his syndicate for nothing, will be sustained by a two-thirds vote of the Aldermen.

Mayor Boody's position is clearly defined. In his veto to the Aldermen last Monday week he said that the city should receive a return for the privilege, and that an offer of $30,000 had been received for it.

This does not seem to carry much weight with the Aldermen. Only three of the entire body are said to be in sympathy with the Mayor—Messrs. Meteer, Myers and Heaney.
